The Delphi Discipline was founded on the back of 20 plus years of voluntary and professional working experience with young people within the fields of education, athletics, and mentoring. My expertise falls within my ability to broker and sustain meaningful relationships with my students, players, and mentees that help guide them into becoming socially responsible, resilient, self-aware, and empathetic citizens of the world. A part of my passion for working with young people stems from the tremendous amount of social and emotional support I received as a young person from a few very special teachers, coaches, and mentors, namely Mr. Ferrando, Mr.Thomas, Coach Kevin, and my late father Otha Williams. It’s undeniable that those individuals played a crucial role in shaping me into the person I am today. Their support, encouragement, and positive influence extended far beyond the realms of academics or athletics, which was an invaluable piece to me remaining on a harmonious and rewarding trajectory.
The Delphi Discipline takes a holistic approach to empowering children with and or without mental health challenges by providing personalized programs that harness the transformative powers of participating in sports, movement activities, and the arts. Each program strives to inspire personal growth, unlock hidden potentials, and cultivate a positive self-image. The 6 pillars of The Delphi Discipline are used as value anchors for each child to reference in their day-to-day interactions at school, on the sports field and within general society.
The overarching goal of The Delphi Discipline is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where a child can learn how to fortify their resilience without tearing down another’s, by acknowledging the power in the agency they have, and learn the importance of applying a growth mindset to all aspects of life’s journey.
Understanding that there are no limits, except those that you set for yourself.
Rewiring the brain to take personal responsibility and be accountable
Finding fulfillment in giving back to others.
Nurturing joy and lightness in life.
Acknowledging the effort and sacrifices needed to reach a goal.
Embracing challenges as opportunities for growth.
The 6 Pillars of The Delphi Discipline are a key set of tools that I have found tremendously useful throughout the course of my life, and which I work to apply within my own life on a consistent basis. It is absolutely not my intention to dictate nor preach, but rather be a living example to young people of how such pillars have helped shape my life and countless others in a positive way. It is my goal to use the medians of sports, movement activities, and the Arts to establish a meaningful relationship with each young person, that is based in mutual understanding and consideration for one another, so that the greatest amount of true joy, laughter, shared knowledge, and growth can be experienced.
